In a society that has compromised its moral and spiritual heritage it is important that Christian leaders are armed with the knowledge of God’s Word. It is only God’s word and the power of the Holy Spirit that will reverse this moral decline. To combat this trend Kingsway fellowship International would like to put some tools in your hands for Christian leaders and workers. Education can make a difference between a mediocre church and a strong, thriving church that provides leadership to its community. When we know the effects of ungodliness then we understand the words of the prophet Hosea, “my people are destroyed for the lack of knowledge.”
Do you recall the day in which you realized that you were called to ministry? The thrill of making a difference in someone’s life was exciting. Your vision was so clear and far reaching. Your calling may have come from a overwhelming deep desire to serve, an encouraging word from a leader or a prophetic word that confirmed the prompting in your heart. It may be at that point you ask, “Where do I start and who will guide me in the process of preparation?”
We firmly believe the local pastor is the primary person God has chosen for this purpose. Therefore, I would like to introduce you to our Minister-In-Training Leadership Program being developed by Kingsway Leadership Institute. This series of studies is designed to build a solid foundation of doctrinal truth, impart leadership character and develop the leadership potential in those who have a call to both the Church and Christian ministry. Paul’s instructions to Timothy sets the precedence for this process in II Timothy 2:2 “and the things that thou hast heard of me among many witnesses, the same commit thou to faithful men, who shall be able to teach other also.” It is accomplished through recognizing those who are called of God, encouraging them to enter into training and developing them through accountability.
The MIT Program works alongside the local church in providing educational material, both by correspondent, by-yearly intensive class studies or weekend leadership conferences to ministry minded individuals as they serve in the local church under the guidance of the Pastor.
Pastor, we invite you to review the enclosed material and seriously consider encouraging your leadership to enroll in the minister-in-training program. I’ve heard it said, “There is no success without a successor.”
